The City of Winchester Trust is Winchester’s civic society, and is dedicated to ensuring that Winchester is a vibrant and desirable place to live, work, study and visit. We do this by working to protect Winchester’s rich heritage and its essential character by pursuing our vision for the future, so that Winchester remains a great city today and for generations to come.

The Trust’s AGM 2024 will take place on Monday 7th October at St Peter’s Pastoral Centre, Jewry Street at 6.45 for 7pm.
The Trust announced the launch of its 14th Design Awards earlier this year. Applications were invited from architects, landscape architects, designers or building owners.
A varied and fascinating programme of ten walks from May to August this year was put together by our new walks organiser. The walks covered history, people, wildlife, society and places of interest around our beautiful city.
The Trust has submitted a strong and detailed objection to the outline planning application for major employment development at Bushfield Camp.

October 2022 - The Trust has responded to the City Council’s most recent consultation on its vision and development proposals for Station Approach.
July 2022 - Hampshire County Council has produced a Draft Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4), which sets out the County Council’s proposed policies and proposals for transport within Hampshire, looking ahead to 2050.

June 2021 - Winchester City Council’s public consultation on the future of North Walls Recreation Ground ended on 11th June. The Trust has a number of concerns about the proposals and has made a robust response.
April 2021 - Winchester City Council’s public consultation on the strategic issues and priorities for the new Local Plan ended on 12 April. The new Local Plan will guide development in Winchester District until 2038.
